Admission Procedure

Admissions are conducted by a duly constituted Board formed under the directions of the Governing body of the College. Candidates seeking admission have to qualify first for a written examination and then for a personal interview. This is usually done in the month of April or May every year. However, for specific admission dates contact the College Office or visit the website.
The application form must include:
  • Attested copies of Certificates & Mark Sheets from Matriculation onwards.
  • Candidates already in service must produce a No Objection Certificate from their employer.
  • In case of Schedule Caste / Tribe, a copy of the Certificate form a competent authority has to be submitted.
  • Students of other universities must submit Migration Cetrificates for their Registration with NEHU.
  • One passport size colour photograph has to be pasted on the space provided in the application form.
  • At the time of the interview, original certificates and mark sheets must be produced.
  • Students seeking admission are to note that the College reserves the right for the allotment of seats and convenience of the college authorities.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Candidates with at least 45% marks for ST and 50% marks for General Category in the Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree with at least two school subjects at the graduation level are eligible for admission.
  • Seats are reserved for ST / SC / OBC and differently-abled students. To clear the backlog of untrained teachers, some seats are also reserved for candidates who do not qualify on the basis of the marks obtained at the Bachelor’s Degree, but who have three years of teaching experience.

DURATION | INTAKE

B. Ed. is a two-year course. The College adheres to the guidelines prescribed by NCTE, thus every academic year the student intake is 50. However, about 45% of the seats are reserved for teachers deputed by the State Education Department, Government of Meghalaya.
