Revised course structure for the Degree of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.).

The two year B.Ed programme spread over four semesters shall consist of nine full and four half theory papers (Core & Electives / Optional), twenty weeks of School Internship cum Field Work and four papers on Enhancement of Professional Capacities (EPC) as given below:

First Semester  (Marks: 280 External+120 Internal = 400 (total)

  1. B.Ed 101 – Foundation of Child Development
  2. B.Ed 102 – Education in Contemporary India
  3. B.Ed 103 – Cultural Basis of Schooling
  4. B.Ed 104 – Understanding (Science/Mathematics/Social Sciences/Language)
  5. B.Ed 105 – Developing Critical Thinking Skills (EPC-1)

Second Semester (Marks: 240 External+160 Internal = 400 (total)

  1. B.Ed 201 – School Organization & Management
  2. B.Ed 202 – Social Basis of Education
  3. B.Ed 203 – Inclusive Education
  4. B.Ed 204 – Optional ( Environmental Education/ Population Education/Health & Physical Education/ Guidance & Counselling)
  5. B.Ed 205 – ICT Skill Development (EPC – 2)
  6. B.Ed 206 – development of Teachers Personality  (EPC -3)

Third Semester (Marks: 280 External+120 Internal = 400 (total)

  1. B.Ed 301 – Principles of Learning  & Teaching
  2. B.Ed 302 & 303 – Methodology of Teaching (MIL/English/ Physical Science/ Life Science/Geography/History/ Social Science)
  3. B.Ed 304 -Assessment & Evaluation of Learning
  4. B.Ed 305 – Developing Creative Thinking Skills (EPC – 4)

Fourth Semester  (Marks: 290 External+110 Internal = 400 (total)

  1. B.Ed 401 – Foundations of Knowledge and Curriculum
  2. B.Ed 402 – School Internship (15 weeks)

(A) Pre-Internship (2 weeks)

  1. Observation of two Demonstration Lessons (with report)
  2. Micro Lesson Teaching Practice (with report)
  3. Macro Lesson Teaching Practice(with report)

(B) Internship – Teaching Practice in schools on two method subjects (60 lessons) 12 weeks

  1. Teaching Practice
  2. Observation of 30 Lessons
  3. Viva-voce on Lesson plan & Teaching Practice
  4. Teaching Aids – Ten (Including one model in each)

(C) Post Internship – Two Criticism Lessons (1 week)

(D) School Internship: Other related work

  1. Maintaining Teachers Diary
  2. Preparation of Time table
  3. Addressing school Assembly
  4. Preparing students’ Portfolio
  5. Attending Staff meeting and writing minutes
