ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES

Re-Teaching

Based on the Practice Teaching observation which was held in the month of June, 2014 few students were indentified for re-teaching after thorough discussion among the supervisors.

Re-teaching was conducted from the 26^th July 2014 – 31^st July 2015. Two schools were selected for this purpose, viz. Garo Union Secondary School and DNS Wahlang Secondary School.

The Re-teaching phase of Practice Teaching offers opportunities to student-teachers to improve their teaching skills and to reduce undesirable practices related to teaching skills.

 

SUBMISSION OF PRACTICAL ITEMS

The month of July witnessed the hard work and dedication put in by the student-teachers to complete their practical work and finally submit them to the Institution. The dates fixed for submission were:

• Unit and Resource Plans – 5^th July, 2014.
• Lesson Plan Book – 7^th July, 2014.
• Psychological Test and Experiments – 26^th July 2014.
• Observation Schedule – 31^st July 2014.
• Project Work – 4^th August 2014.

Final – Teaching

The Final Teaching for the session 2014 was conducted from the 26^th – 29^th August 2014. The following schools were considered for conducting the B.Ed. Final Teaching:

1. Mawprem Modern Secondary School.
2. Seven Set Higher Secondary School.
3. St. John’s Laban Higher Secondary School.
4. K.J.P. Girl’s Higher Secondary School
5. Christian Academy Higher Secondary School.

ADMISSION FOR 2015 BATCH

Admission forms were issued from the 18^th July 2014 to 2^nd August 2014 and the last date for submission of forms was 6^th August 2014.

The Written Test was held on the 16^th August 2014 from 10:30 AM – 12:00 Noon.

Result of the written test was declared on the 22^nd August 2014 and personal interview for eligible candidates was held on the 3^rd. 4^th, 5^th, and 8^th September 2014.

SEMINARS/ TESTS

In the month of September numerous activities such as conduct of Seminars by respective subject teachers as well as Unit Tests for both core papers as well as method subjects.

The College Test for the four core papers was completed by the 12^th November, 2014 where the corrected papers were returned back to the students.

B. Ed. FINAL EXAMINATION:

The B.Ed. Final Examination 2014 commenced on 1^st December 2014 and completed on 19^th December 2014.

EVALUATION

The North Eastern Hill University, Shillong has directed all the teachers to report to the Institution from the last week of January 2015 for Central Evaluation of the Final B.Ed. Examination 2014 answer scripts.

INDUCTION-Cum-ORIENTATION:

The Induction programme for students of the Batch 2015 was held on 17^th February 2015 at 10:30 AM where 94 students were inducted for the B.Ed. course during the programme. Mrs. T. Phanbuh, Chairperson, State Women Commission, graced the occasion.

The Induction Programme was followed by the Orientation towards the B.Ed. Course by the Principal, Dr. (Mrs.) V. Kharmawphlang.

Regular classes commenced from the 18^th February 2015 onwards based on the decision of the Staff meeting held on the 6^th February 2015.
